Ireland has the dearest household electricity in the EU, according to Eurostat.
Every cost on this site is worked out from the wattage, the hours and Irish unit rates, and the sum is always shown.
It’s the same with the weather. Met Éireann describes cloudy, humid weather with rain, carried in on Atlantic depressions, as typical of the Irish climate.
That’s why drying clothes outdoors is a summer luxury, and why condensation is a winter routine rather than an occasional nuisance. It’s also why a good pair of wellies earns its keep from October to April.
